During the Coronavirus outbreak, technology is playing a key role in allowing many businesses to continue their operations, and MultiPlan is no exception. More than 99% of our employees are working out of home offices, and our operations have continued to run seamlessly. A good example is our call center. From their home offices, our representatives are helping members identify network providers, many of whom are seeing patients via telemedicine, using telephone or video calls for the visits. In fact, MultiPlan’s volume of telemedicine claims is thirty times more today than it was on February 1.
MultiPlan’s portals, especially the ones accessed by providers, are also particularly useful during this time. We’re using the Provider Portal to communicate information to network providers on behalf of our clients, such as notice of waiving members’ copayments, coinsurance and deductibles for diagnostic visits and related lab tests for COVID-19.
