$30,000 to be awarded

(New York, NY) March 19, 2019 – MultiPlan, Inc. is accepting applications for their Rural Health Grant. The grant provides financial resources to help healthcare providers in rural areas introduce or expand services, education, screenings and other programs aimed at improving the health of people in their communities. This year MultiPlan will award up to $30,000 in grants.

The MultiPlan Rural Health Grant is available to hospitals, rural health clinics and federally qualified health centers participating in any of MultiPlan’s healthcare provider networks, including PHCS, PHCS Medicaid, MultiPlan, MultiPlan Medicare Advantage, Beech Street, HealthEOS, Texas True Choice, IHP, HMN and RAN. Eligible providers will be notified by mail and an application for the grant will be posted on MultiPlan’s website at https://www.multiplan.com/philanthropic-programs. Completed applications must be received by May 31, 2019. Grant recipients will be announced in July 2019.

MultiPlan is introducing changes to the program for 2019. The $30,000 grant budget had previously been divided into four $7,500 awards. This year MultiPlan will determine the grant amount and number of recipients during their review of the grant applications. “This change gives providers an opportunity to embark on more ambitious programs that can make a significant impact on the health of people in their communities,” said Bruce Singleton, Senior Vice President, Network Development Strategy for MultiPlan.

MultiPlan is also expanding the scope of eligibility from acute-care inpatient hospitals to include rural health clinics and federally qualified health centers. “We are excited to implement these changes that give providers more options and opportunities to improve the health of people in their communities,” said Dr. Anthony Sposato, Corporate Medical Director for MultiPlan. “I’m equally excited to see what kinds of creative programs we’ll see submitted this year.”

MultiPlan introduced the program in 1995 and has since awarded over a half million dollars helping fund health services supporting a variety of initiatives, from enabling nurses to obtain Wound Care Certification to providing awareness and education that help community members suffering from congestive heart failure manage their disease. Information about grant recipients is available on the MultiPlan website. For questions about the grant, contact MultiPlan at [email protected].
